October Necessities

It's October!!!!!!!!! That means pumpkin spice everything, leggings, plaid, and all of my other fall favorites (even if the weather in LA is not currently permitting it). Some of my favorite blog posts to read are bloggers current favorites or must haves for the month. I thought i'd give it ago, despite the fact that I literally have no idea how everyone seems to make collages of this stuff.

1. Leather Leggings

I mean.... leggings are most absolutely pants in my mind. You will absolutely see me in leather leggings this fall. I'm a big fan of the leather and plaid combo.

2. Graphic T's

My favorite thing about graphic t's are there versatility. You can pair it with a pair of leather leggings, boyfriend jeans, or yoga pants and get three completely different looks from the same shirt. I tend to gravitate towards the t's that have more of a boyfriend fit, or fall off of the shoulder.

3. Plaid Plaid Plaid

As you know from my very first blog post, my love of plaid goes back to my love of Full House and Stephanie Tanner. I will take my plaid in any shape or form.

4. Lounge Wear

This month is crunch time for me as I work on applications for grad school! Naturally I plan on being as comfortable as possible as I fill out application after application and write essay after essay.

5. Booties

I'm that girl that wears booties all year round. There is no outfit in my mind that you can't wear booties with if you so desire.  These are just a few pairs i'm currently coveting.

If you guys would like to see more of this type of post i'd love to know and I'll work on making it more visually presentable! Also if you ever have any questions about outfits or styling or just wanna throw some ideas out about posts i'd love to hear from you via email or on the comment section!

Biker Chic

Leather Vest// Aviatrix (bought at LF Robertson)
White Tank Top// Project Social T (bought at Urban Outfitters)
Black Jeans// Carmar Denim (LF Robertson)
Shoes// Steve Madden
Bag// Celine
Cross// Urban Outfitters
Gold Stamped Necklace// All The Wire Double Or Nothin'
Bracelets// Matocha RockLuxe Jewels
For my moms last night in LA we headed to Mercado for an early 5 o'clock dinner (I'm such an old person). I highly recommend the sweet corn and the hibiscus mezcal marg! After many days of not washing my hair I attempted to rock a top knot, which I haven't really done since I cut my hair a year ago. After 10 minutes and 15 bobby pins later I think it came out pretty good...but certainly not as time efficient as it was with long hair (and who knows what the back of it actually looked like). I've been living in this white tank top all weekend, I'm one of those people that owns 100 different plain white tops in every fit possible. I got this Aviatrix leather Vest at the LF Robertson summer sale for close to 70% off and i've been waiting for an opportunity to wear it! When my mom and I left my apartment she made a comment that I looked like a Biker Chick, and I couldn't help but agree...this is a very biker chic  outfit. I am so excited to style this vest in different ways this fall and winter, waiting for this vest to go on sale was well worth the wait.

Have a great Monday!!

Happy Hour

One of my favorite things to do is go to a good Happy Hour. Sometimes you don't want to dress up, sometimes you want to go in your pajamas. Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is the perfect spot for that day you want to happy hour but don't want to get dressed up. You can get soooo much food for so cheap, and wear whatever you want! It's also within walking distance of my apartment, always a plus! I opted to wear these One Teaspoon Outlaw shorts, which have been a staple for me the past summer ( I alternate between these and my Mink Pink Slasher shorts). In the last year I've found myself really gravitating towards graphic tee's and tank tops and Madison & Berkeley has some of my favorite, including this 'Dream' pocket tank top.  The black, white, and turquoise star bangle bracelets are my favorite part of this look. I got these bracelets at a small market place in Maui, despite the fact that they constantly fall off of my small wrists. This outfit really worked with my going on 4 days unwashed hair...

If you guys live in LA, do you have any go to Happy Hour spots?! I would love to hear about them.

Lavender Fields

I love driving upcountry and spending the morning at the Lavender Farm. I always enjoy a nice hot cup of lavender chamomile tea and a lavender scone with some lavender honey. It's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It also means so much to me because this is a place my dad and I went to every year together, and now when I go back I can think of the memories we shared.

I originally was wearing a pair of high waisted cut off shorts and a plain white t-shirt, but my mom reminded me that it's much colder in the mountains.  I went for my trusted LF Carmar crochet boyfriend jeans, a flowy Free People tank, and a Kimono over it for added warmth (and easy to take off if it is warm). I also thought the colors in the Kimono and pattern matched nicely with the background of the farm.

Here are some more of my favorite pictures from the day.

Bonus: If you head up to the Lavender Farm, there is the most amazing food truck up there now. You can enjoy the best Fried Zucchini and Pulled Pork sliders, while playing with the most adorable teacup Yorki. It's clearly a win win situation.

Resort Lounging

Romper// LF Robertson
Bralette// La Mer
Shoes// Sam Edleman
Necklace// Lf Robertson
My first day of being at the resort all day was full of listening to Hillary Duff on repeat while being a slave to my inner-laziness. I started the morning off with a Mango granola parfait (typical blogger breakfast minus avocado toast, according to instagram) and found myself wondering why I wasn't eating chocolate chip pancakes. I then finished my coffee diluted with soy milk and sugar and took a nice walk around the resort grounds in this colorful romper that I'm convinced makes me look almost sort-of-kind-of tan. I then proceeded to lay out on the beach alternating between Hillary Duff and Becky G on repeat until I felt like I was possibly turning into a lobster.

I have a hard time making it through a day in the same outfit, which causes quite a bit of laundry for me. After my mom and I were done with our beach laziness, we headed down to the shops of Wailea to eat at one of our favorite sushi restaurants. KAI Wailea has the most addictive spicy edamame. I opted to wear boyfriend jeans, because at night there is often a chilly breeze.  This is one of my favorite tank tops, because of the unexpected low back. The burnt orange Steve Madden sandals and turquoise necklace give the outfit a bit of color, making it not so boring. Unlike LA, Maui is slow-paced and I think this outfit reflects the relaxed energy of this island.

So excited to be sharing this trip with you guys, and I can't wait to give you guys frequent updates! Be on the lookout for a giveaway before the end of my trip!!

Airport Casual And The Joys of Packing

Top// LF Robertson
Pants// LF Robertson
Jacket// Blank NYC (bought at Nordstroms)
Shoes// Steve Madden

I always find myself contemplating for days what to wear on the airplane when I'm going on a trip. The lazy side of me would love to wear a pair of yoga pants and relishes in the memories of that time when wearing Juicy Couture track suits while traveling was a thing. The key is to find an outfit that feels like pajamas...but is not pajamas. As we all know airplanes are ALWAYS freezing (or at least for me), so I have to consider this when getting dressed. The pants that I am wearing in this picture might as well be pajama pants because that is how comfortable they are. I've been in search of a denim jacket with leather sleeves with the right baggy fit and wash for years, so when I found this Blank NYC jacket at Nordstrom's the other day in the Savy Section I knew I had to buy it (the hood made it possible for me to take a nice comfy nap on the flight).

Packing is just as much of a struggle for me as trying to figure out what to wear to the airport. Typically, I pack like a 5 year old who is pretty sure they are never coming back home (so I clearly bring everything I own). I typically go through my entire closet and throw everything I want to bring onto the floor and roll it up into balls and throw it in my suit case. It's pretty much a disaster.  Everything is wrinkled upon arrival andI can't find anything. I've also brought so much that I don't have enough hangers or space in the hotel room to hang everything up. This year I attempted to be orderly, pack less, and fold my clothes. As you can see above this was relatively successful, until 20 minutes before my mom and I were supposed to leave for the airport my whole suitcase broke.... Everything was then thrown (literally) into a duffel bag. This was a wonderful omen for what was to come the rest of the day. I lost my drivers license in the airport and had to trace back my steps until I found it. I then lost my phone later that day (found it), lost my credit card (didn't find), and my favorite restaurant on the island stopped serving my favorite meal.

When your in paradise though nothing seems to matter! This island has such a special place in my heart. I have been coming here for the last 12 years and have shared so many beautiful memories with my mom, dad, and friends. I wish my dad could be here to share in this summers experiences, but I know he is smiling down at me and my mom from heaven enjoying watching us have an amazing time.

Have you guys been to Maui? What are some of your must sees and favorite places on the island?! I'd love to know. Follow me daily for my outfits, adventures, and finds here in Maui.

When your luggage gets lost....

Top//Alice & Olivia
Pants//Go Make Noise Floral Sweatpants
Necklace//Turkish Coin
Shoes//Steve Madden
Bracelets//Abercrombie and Fitch
These Go Make Noise Floral Sweatpants are what happens when the airlines loose your luggage and you've worn the same Lauren Moshi sweat pants for three days in a row. In December I took a quick trip to Aspen with my mom where we strolled through the mountain side by horse and carriage drinking peppermint hot chocolate (delightful, right?), however when I flew back to my hometown with mom our luggage was lost for a week. Due to the fact that Christmas was looming around the corner I was forced to make a trip to Nordstrom where I acquired these pants that I'm fully convinced are appropriate to wear all year round (obviously if I'm wearing them in July). Sadly, I don't have a great story... or really any story about the rest of my outfit.

These pictures were taken right before City Church at the Montage, something I look forward to every week. For those of you in LA who don't know about it but may be interested, there is a bible study or church (whatever you want to call it) held every Wednesday at 7 and 8:30. It takes place at the Montage Hotel on Cannon in Beverly Hills held by Pastor Judah Smith (think hipster). He flies down every week from his church and home in Seattle to inspire the community of Los Angeles and share God's love. It's a very chill and relaxed atmosphere and the coffee is pretty good too. If you're ever interested in attending and don't want to go alone, I'm always available!!

P.S. I'm fully aware this post was basically a ramble.
