Holiday Gift Ideas Under $50

In an effort to delete some pictures on my phone since it has literally no storage left, I found this picture perfect moment from my trip to Aspen last Christmas. My mom and I took this magical sleigh ride with this delightful old man who sang christmas carols and brought us hot chocolate in a thermos. I felt like I was living a Lifetime Christmas Movie. I am already counting down the days until I make new holiday memories in Quebec this year! I imagine that it will look and feel like a Charles Dickens novel, and I will stroll around various Christmas markets and eat maple syrup on ice (If you can't tell I really romanticize things in my mind).

Anywho... I know it can be shopping for presents can be quite stressful, time consuming, and expensive! So I put together some fun gift ideas for $50 dollars and under!

Coffee Mugs/Tumblers

I dont know about you, but i've been an avid collector of coffee mugs since I was 10. I'm always appreciative of a new coffee mug, here are a few online I found all under $20

Pajamas

I feel like I'm ALWAYS in need of more pajamas, and these pajamas are all under $30!

Phone Accessories

I'm always breaking/getting bored with my phone covers and loosing my accessories, and I have a feeling i'm not the only one!

Stationary/Organizational Products

Who doesn't need to get a little more organized?! There's no reason to not do it in style either :)

Home Goodies

We are big kids now and need things for our apartments and homes!

What plans do you guys have for the holiday's?! I'd love to hear about it.

November Necessities:It's all about the Accessories

November means it's holiday season! I start dreaming about pumpkin pie, black friday, sugar cookie tea  (yes this is a real thing, and it's magical), what it's like to live in a city where leaves turn colors, and how every pair of tights I own from last year seems to have a run in them. This month for my necessities section i'm focusing on some of my faves/crave accessories and shoes.

Hats

As you can tell from my blog and Insta feed if you've been following, i'm maybe a bit obsessed with hats. To be honest this obsession is very recent. Before I cut my hair a year ago, I never ever wore hats. With my shorter textured hair, hats have a whole new feel on me, and they really complete an outfit! They also honestly make me feel more comfortable when I take pictures for the blog and instagram. Here are some hats currently on my wish list.

Tights/Socks

I have ALWAYS been a lover of tights and socks. When I was five my mom used to dress me in mis matched lacy and slouchy socks, in high school I wore knee socks everyday with my school uniform and doc martins, and now I see them as the perfect way to keep wearing that skirt or dress all year round. I love to layer socks over tights and each other and use them to add a pop of color or texture to an outfit. These are some of favorites that I find to be a must for my closet.

Over the Knee Boots/Sneakers

Every season I am on the constant look out for the perfect over the knee boot! I have absolutely been in love with them for the last few seasons, but find it a struggle to find ones that stay up on me all day long and don't start slouching. I think it may be time to invest in a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots, from what I hear they are perfection. I've also been starting to build a bit of a sneaker collection! I find that one of my favorite ways to wear them is with a simple leather skirt, sweatshirt, or tshirt.

Bags

I really own a handful of bags and purses. I tend to just use the same ones over and over. I like to keep a big tote bag, small cross body bag, and a backpack or two. I also tend to stick with neutrals and blacks. In the last few months I've started to covet more and more purses, maybe i'll add some of these to my Christmas list!

I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog in the last month, but when my applications are completed and submitted for grad school December 1st, I promise i'll get better!

I have decided that I would like to a weekly street style section. I'd like to roam around town and take pictures and interview people who inspire my style, feature people from Instagram, and who send in email submissions! If you'd like to be featured send me an email (laprade.rebecca@gmail.com) with a picture of you in an outfit that makes you feel wonderful and confident, your name, occupation, and your current style must haves and must nots! Or you can tag me on instagram or #llcstreetstyle and every Wednesday i'll do a feature on my blog and Instagram. You guys can let me know if you love it and want me to keep it up, or I should ditch it.

This summer is coming to an end, and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to wear this LF lace tank top (from last summer) for possibly the last time. This last week has been a crazy! I got home from Maui, and immediately had friends come into town for the holiday weekend to stay with me. After a busy weekend of sight seeing, a birthday part at Sky High (don't lie and pretend like jumping on trampolines into foam pits isn't the best way to spend Saturday night), and watching 5 hours of Real Housewives of Melbourne (shine shine shine) we decided to stroll around Melrose Place. Then after seeing thousands of Instagram pictures from Alfred's Coffee, we decided it was a necessity to experience the coffee, and immediately followed it with a photo session with Casper  the Barista.

I haven't talked to much about my outfit in this post, and thats honestly because I'm sooooo ready for Fall to come! Hello leather, plaid, oversized sweaters, and knee highs. However, I will say that the All the Wire Necklace I wore in this post means the world to me. I posted it on Instagram (@leather.lace.andcupcakes) last week if you want to see it up close. I had it engraved with the words "Forever in my heart, PLP" as a way to keep my dad close to my heart. All the Wire is a great jewelry line stared by Tori (from Courtney loves Dallas) and her sister Desiree. The unique thing about this line is that many of the pieces can be personalized with your own special words.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful Holiday weekend! What are you guys most excited to wear this Fall?!

70's Inspired

Pants// Mossimo (Target)
Shoes// Top Shop LA
Jewelry// LF Robertson
Hat// Janessa Leone Vera Hat (bought at LF Robertson)

I didn't make it to Coachella this year (or any other year) but seeing Hair at the Hollywood Bowl Friday night in my 70's inspired outfit kinda made up for my lack of festival experiences. The soft flowy Target pants I wore are the perfect example of #targetdoesitagain. I also have a long running obsession with last summers Top Shop heals I wore, because if I close my eyes I can imagine myself as the 7th Brady Bunch sibling. A flower headpiece could also be a great alternative to the hat I wore with this outfit....I just seem to have a hard time making them look good on me! My first experience at the Hollywood Bowl with the star studded cast of Hair was a night to remember and such a fun way to celebrate my beautiful friend's 25th birthday! I may or may not have died a little inside seeing Kristen Bell sing live, the only thing that could have made it better would be to see Kristen Bell live on stage singing with a sloth.

Have any of you guys been to the Hollywood Bow? If so what are some of your favorite memories or experiences?!
